Ayurveda is an ancient approach to health and wellbeing that’s sometimes called the sister science of yoga. Its scope is our entire lived experience–not just what’s happening in our bodies, but in our mind and spirit too. The word “balance” distills Ayurveda’s core principles: we create and maintain health and longevity when all our systems are working harmoniously and are in sync with the cycles of nature. In a state of balance, our innate intelligence will lead us to the wellbeing we desire.

Ayurveda teaches that we each have a unique constitution. When you come for counseling, our first order of business is to identify your particular constitution and what imbalances are present. Then we’ll look at how your current lifestyle and diet may be contributing to those imbalances.  Together, we’ll decide on simple steps you can take to “right the ship” and bring yourself back into balance. I’ll support you every step of the way with respectful and compassionate guidance, education, and tools to help you restore your vital energy and live with ease.

The Process:

  • Initial assessment (in person or on-line): we’ll spend 2 hours together talking about your current concerns and past health history and why you are turning to Ayurveda. I’ll want to hear about your goals and how you envision your life changing as you make your way back to balance;

  • Delivery of recommendations: after our session, I’ll take a day or two to draw up recommendations and then we’ll meet to discuss them and determine what is feasible for you to implement. I’ll provide information about lifestyle, yoga/exercise, diet, eating habits, and other self-care routines to support you and help you achieve your goals;

  • Follow Up Consultation(s): We’ll check in as needed to review your progress and make any adjustments necessary to your recommendations to keep you on track.
